Invites application for the post of Director/Secretary

The vision of the UPIDR is to create professionals for the contextual development of crafts in Uttar Pradesh and to set up new-age creative industries through design intervention and entrepreneurship training. The UP Institute of Design & Research has been established in the state in order to train the region’s rich Handicraft sector in the field of Design. To efficiently operate this Institute, applications are invited for the post of Director/Secretary by direct recruitment.

Details regarding Director/Secretary post are following :-

1. NAME OF THE POST Director/Secretary

3. PAY SCALE Rs.37400-67000 (Grade Pay-8700)
4. TENURE Director/Secretary will be the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute and will be appointed for the tenure of 3 years.
5. ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Candidate must be an Indian Citizen
  • Post Graduate Degree/Diploma or equivalent (minimum 2 years PG Diploma) in the field of Design from National Institute of Design/National Institute of Fashion Technology/Indian Institute of Craft and Design/Indian Institute of Technology/Craft Development Institute Srinagar/Maharaja Sayaji Rao, University of Baroda or any reputed Institute.

    • OR

    Post graduate degree or any other equivalent Degree in the field of Design or Art or Craft from any University/Institute established by law.
  • Work experience of 15 years in the field of Design, Craft or Art from any reputed University/Institute established by law.
6. PREFERENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • However, in case of similarity in eligibility conditions and other qualifications, that candidate will be preferred who has worked in the field of Design or Art or Craft as Class 1 or Class 2 officer in any Institute governed by Central Government or State Government and has specific knowledge about this field.

OR

Applicants who have teaching/research experience from any reputed Institutes like National Institute of Design/National Institute of Fashion Technology/Indian Institute of Craft and Design/Indian Institute of Technology or any other equivalent Institutes.
7. AGE The minimum age of the applicant should be 45 years and the maximum age should be 55 years on the date of advertisement.
Application Procedure:-

1- After applying online through the UPIDR Official Website www.upid.ac.in candidate will have to submit the copy of Online submitted form with all the required attachments by registered Post or By Hand to the Address-, Uttar Pradesh Institute of Design & Research, Opposite - Ansal Golf City, Roberts Line, Near- Delhi Public School, Amar Shaheed Path, Lucknow during Office Working Hours. Candidates should apply timely to avoid network congestion related issues on website. Department will not be liable if Application Form cannot be uploaded on the last date. 2- The Director/Secretary will be selected through an interview before the prescribed selection committee after screening all the applications received through open advertisement.

General Instructions:-
  • Candidates must apply online through the official website of UPIDR www.upid.ac.in Applications received through any other mode would not be accepted and summarily rejected.
  • Last date for applying online applications by the candidates is 02-11-2021.
  • Along with Application Form also upload self-attested copies of relevant Matriculation Certificate (High School Marksheet/Certificate) for Age Certification, Educational Qualification, Experience and Caste (wherever applicable).
  • Applicants are advised to keep the printout of finally filled Online Application Form for record purpose. Candidates are advised to carry a copy of filled Application Form with them while appearing for interview.

  • Detail of venue, time and date for interview will be provided to the candidates separately.
  • Application fee Rs.2000/- in the form of Demand Draft in favor of Director, U.P. Institute of Design. All documents with demand draft will be submitted at Ansal Golf City, Roberts Line, Near- Delhi Public School, Amar Shaheed Path, Lucknow (Pin- 226002) within the stipulated time.
